There are many examples of well-written and well-delivered speeches on line. For a Canadian example, see Justin Trudeau's eulogy for his father, former prime minister Pierre E. Trudeau. http://archives.cbc.ca/on_this_day/10/03/.

Here's another speech that I'd give A+ to even though the speaker does all kinds of things that I will be telling you not to do. He fidgets with his hat, he covers his face with his hat, he ums, he says "broughten" at one point. I'd give him an A+ though because he does the three most important things that a speech should do. He made me laugh, he made me cry, and he gave me hope. He did those things by working his way into our hearts and touching on the things that create a shared humanity. He connected. http://epresence.tv/showcase#ShowcaseContent_2. Stay with him till the end. 20 well spent minutes. (But please, never say "broughten.")
- If you do not have a resumé or if you want new ideas for one, go to http://web.cs.toronto.edu/people.htm. Look at the homepages of several graduate students.
